Web Festivals

Here’s a question to all you web series creators, should you enter your series into Festivals before releasing it to the public as to build an audience beforehand?

The REBECCA GOLD Web series is coming this fall.

Again, it’s about your goals, but the great thing about web series festivals is that in general, they don’t have premiere requirements because web series are made to be released online, so you can do whatever you want. However, here’s a perspective you can check out that might be useful:

Thanks, Bri, what I’m learning is that there is no definite answer and everyone has to do what is right for their project.

Web series festivals are generally not the best way to build an audience. They’re much more useful for making connections and (hopefully) getting some nominations and awards to brag about in your marketing.

Thanks so much for this question. We’ve just completed an eight episode first season of a series called Thespian about an aging Gen Xer comic with a flatlined career who decides to go back to his roots as a serious actor and we are dealing with this exact thing.

Yeah but what about my question, what do you think? LOL!
