Submitting to a film festival on the late deadline

(Ian David Diaz) #1

Hi everyone is it worth submitting to a film festival in the late deadline process? I keep thinking the organizers have already seen most of the film that has come in and decided on the movies building up their programme, so yours coming in late might not stand a chance. Thoughts on that, please.

Also, are there any festivals people should avoid?

I guarantee most festivals have not even started watching submissions until their late deadline- there’s no reason to have a late deadline if you’ve already chosen your programming slate plus it’s much easier to judge with every submission accounted for, and they’ve got plenty of other stuff going on prior to the deadline
